Examination by KIPO An application for trademark renewal is easily accepted by KIPO if the applicant duly pays the prescribed official fee for the renewal application. If, after reviewing the renewal application, KIPO finds no reason to reject the application, it issues a decision of registration. 3. Trademark Registration Fee Within two months from the receiving date of a decision of registration, the applicant, or any interested person must pay the registration fee. The period for payment may be extended, upon request, by an additional period of thirty (30) days. If the registration fee is not paid within the stipulated time limit, then the trademark shall be deemed to have been abandoned. 4. Required Document for Trademark Renewal The only document necessary for a renewal application is a Power of Attorney simply signed by a representative of the renewal applicant.
