Under the Korean Trademark Act, the term of a trademark right is 10 years commencing from the date of registration. An application for renewal of a trademark may be filed up to one year prior to the date of expiration of the trademark right. If a registrant does not file a renewal application within the specified term, then he may file a renewal application within a six months grace-term after the expiry date of the trademark right by paying an additional fee.
